Are your beautiful hardwood doors correctly cared for?
Take a closer look at them ... are they still 'like new'?
Is the varnish dull? Are there any stains, cracks or bare wood?
Is the glass "foggy"? Do they close properly?
How long since they were last refinished?
Most people assume that once varnished their front doors will last forever. NOT SO!
FACT: All varnished hardwood doors need to be lightly refinished every few years - especially if they are exposed to the unforgiving sunlight and humidity. (Most of the wood finishes/varnish starts to break down after only a year or two - even Marine Grade 'Spar' varnish - and no longer protects the wood, permitting it to absorb moisture and UV rays - and start to deteriorate!)
Your entry doors were a significant investment and the correct preventive maintenance is relatively inexpensive compared to waiting too long ... then having to repair, strip, stain and re-varnish ... or even replace them!
I specialize in refinishing hardwood entry doors, using ONLY the highest quality EXTERIOR GRADE varnish (catalyzed urethane), that truly stands up to the harsh elements ... for many years!
